True North Marine (TNM) will make every reasonable effort to insure vessels are safely lifted without damage during haul-outs. If Sling Placement Labels are installed on the vessel, Travel Lift lifting straps will be placed at or as near as possible or practical to these locations. Should damage occur to the vessel during haul-out after placing lifting straps in these marked locations, TNM will not be responsible in any way for damage that may occur. If Sling Placement Labels are not installed on the vessel, the Vessel Owner or Owner’s Representative has the following options (the Coordinating Contractor will be assumed to be the Owner’s Representative):

1. The Vessel Owner or Owner’s Representative may supply a Lifting Plan with detailed instructions on where lifting straps should be placed in order to lift the vessel safely and without damage. This plan should be submitted to TNM at least 48 hours prior to scheduled haul-out for review and approval. TNM will follow this plan as closely as possible. If any damage occurs during a haul-out after following the supplied Lifting Plan, TNM will not be held responsible for damage repairs.

2. If no Sling Placement Labels are installed on the vessel and a Lifting Plan is not available or supplied, the Vessel Owner or Owner’s Representative may opt to proceed with the haul-out, with the understanding that TNM, with the assistance of the Vessel Owner or Owner’s Representative, will make every effort to locate lifting straps in order to safely lift the vessel without causing damage. However, should damage occur in the absence of Sling Placement Labels installed on the vessel or a previously supplied and approved Lifting Plan, TNM will not be held responsible for any resulting damages that may occur during lifting and haul-out.

If no Sling Placement Labels are installed and a successful lift is completed, TNM can install Sling Placement Labels for future use upon request.

If work by the Contractor is to be performed in the Shipyard, a link to the Contractor Shipyard Practices & Policies Agreement will be sent separately. This must be signed prior to start of any work in the Shipyard and will be kept on file for future use.
