STORM SUPPORT SERVICES
Put your mind at ease, protect your investment, and focus on other priorities by utilizing True North Marine’s Storm Support Services.
Start to finish, we are here to help you get through a stressful event, such as a tropical storm or hurricane, as easily as possible while minimizing the chance of damage to your boat. As another Captain-Lite Yacht Management Service our Storm Support Service consists of the following:
Don’t Get Caught Off Guard – Be Prepared!
Storm Plan Implementation
Post Storm Vessel Inspection
Storm Plan Restoration
Storm Preparation Plan Development
We provide a custom document outlining a Preparation Plan for your vessel.
This can be used for yourself, your marina, insurance purposes, etc. This draws from standard practices, industry knowledge, what is feasible, and our experience of detailed tasks. For example, adding additional dock lines, fenders, chafe gear, removing biminis, stowing biminis and stowing enclosures. Additionally, we will close thru-hulls, secure sails or remove sails, secure or remove antennas and provide decommissioning plans as needed. We will provide any extra items you may need.
Storm Plan Implementation
This is when we will execute the Storm Preparation Plan for your vessel. This requires that a Storm Preparation Plan is already developed and on file with True North Marine. You can request this any time. If requested early after a threat is announced it is a lower price. Pricing is based off of opportunity cost, not our hourly rate. The closer to the storm – the higher the cost, but still likely cheaper and a lot less stressful than a trip across town when you may be focused on other priorities!
After preparations are complete, you will have access to pictures online documenting how your boat was prepped and left.
When a named storm enters the Gulf and Clear Lake is anywhere within the cone of potential landfall, we will focus the full strength of our Service Department in this effort.
Post Storm Vessel Inspections
We will inspect your vessel (inside and out) and provide picture documentation of its condition after the storm (as soon as it is safe to do so).
We will activate shore power (if left off), and verify proper operation of systems. Any issues or damage can be documented and communicated at that point and dealt with as possible. This provides you proof-positive of how your boat weathered the storm, no matter where you are.
Storm Plan Restoration
To save you the hassle of getting your boat ready to use again, we will undo the storm prep.
Kind of like taking down the Christmas lights after the holidays… Don’t be that guy with the boat still prepped for a storm next spring! Pricing for this service is based on our hourly labor rates as it is worked through our normal, non-emergency scheduling process.
